Andrew Carnegie (1835–1919) was a Scottish-American industrialist who led the expansion of the American steel industry and founded Carnegie Steel Company. After selling his business, he became a major philanthropist, funding public libraries, educational institutions, and foundations including the Carnegie Corporation.
