George R.R. Martin

George R.R. Martin (born 1948) is an American novelist and screenwriter best known for the fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, adapted for television as Game of Thrones. He has written short fiction, edited anthologies, and received awards including the Hugo, Nebula, and Bram Stoker.
