Hanan Ashrawi

Hanan Ashrawi (born 1946) is a Palestinian legislator, scholar and human-rights advocate who served as spokesperson for the Palestinian delegation at the 1991 Madrid peace conference. She founded MIFTAH (the Palestinian Initiative for Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy) and has been active in Palestinian politics, higher education and civil-society advocacy.
