I. M. Pei (Ieoh Ming Pei, 1917–2019) was a Chinese-American architect known for modernist designs and significant urban projects. His landmark works include the glass pyramid at the Louvre and the East Building of the National Gallery of Art, and he received the Pritzker Prize in 1983.
