Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886–1969) was a German-American architect who shaped modernist architecture with works like the Barcelona Pavilion, the Seagram Building, and the Farnsworth House. He led the Bauhaus (1930–33), later headed architecture at IIT, and emphasized clarity and quality, reflected in his quote 'I don't want to be interesting. I want to be good.'
