Meister Eckhart

Meister Eckhart, born c.1260 and died c.1328, was a German Dominican friar, theologian, and mystic known for sermons and writings on inner detachment and union with God. His teachings on contemplative stillness influenced Christian mysticism and later spiritual writers, and some of his propositions were posthumously condemned by Church authorities.
