Menander

Menander (c. 342/341–c. 290/291 BC) was a Greek playwright of the New Comedy who specialized in portraying everyday Athenian life and social manners. Many of his plays survive only in fragments, but his influence on Roman comedy and later European literature is well established; the quote 'He who has the will has the strength' reflects his focus on character and practical ethics.
