Norman Mailer

Norman Mailer (1923–2007) was an American novelist, journalist, and essayist best known for the novel The Naked and the Dead and the nonfiction Armies of the Night, which won both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. He was a prominent figure in postwar American literature and cultural commentary, cofounder of The Village Voice and a leading practitioner of New Journalism.
