Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919) was the 26th President of the United States, serving from 1901 to 1909 and known for progressive reforms, trust-busting, conservation, and leading the Rough Riders in the Spanish-American War. He expanded the national parks system, promoted the Panama Canal's construction, and championed a 'square deal' for American citizens.
