Thomas Fowell Buxton

Thomas Fowell Buxton (1786–1845) was an English Member of Parliament, social reformer and leading abolitionist. He continued William Wilberforce’s parliamentary campaign against slavery and promoted legal and social reforms, including improvements to prisons and colonial administration.
