Walter Benjamin

Walter Benjamin (1892–1940) was a German-Jewish cultural critic, philosopher, and essayist known for his analyses of art, literature, and history. He examined modernity and mass culture in influential essays such as "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" and died while fleeing Nazi persecution.
