Yuan Longping

Yuan Longping (1930–2021) was a Chinese agronomist known as the "Father of Hybrid Rice" for developing high-yield hybrid rice varieties that significantly increased global food production. His work on rice breeding and promotion of hybrid technology earned international recognition and helped alleviate hunger in many countries.
