Yet the future does not always arrive on schedule. In The Problem of Increasing Human Energy (Century Magazine, 1900), Tesla sketched a globe-spanning wireless system for information and power. Wardenclyffe Tower on Long Island (1901–1906) was his attempt to materialize that vision, but financing waned and the project stalled; the tower was demolished in 1917.
