Martin Buber (1878–1965) was an Austrian-born Jewish philosopher, theologian, and writer best known for his philosophy of dialogue expressed in the 1923 work I and Thou. He emigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1938, became a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and wrote extensively on Hasidism, religion, and interfaith relations.
